Mahsa Amini protests

A 22-year-old Iranian Kurd named Mahsa Amini died in the custody of Iran's morality police after being arrested for an improperly worn headscarf. Within days women across Iran were burning their hijabs in public squares and chanting Woman, Life, Freedom. The regime cracked down with bullets and executions, but the spell of compulsion had broken.
